Well, it only matters if you're honest about it. Your question is about the self.
What do you consider balanced?

Knowing when to handle compassion and when to handle power.

Not a bad definition.
Part of handling compassion is accepting another's feelings for you. Even if you feel unworthy, you have to allow them their feelings.
Pushing others away only causes more problems. It rarely changes the way they feel. It only causes them further suffering.
no worries!

People can do stupid things when they're upset. Even more when they're upset over someone else.

Which is why you just have to let people feel the way they feel sometimes. If they think you're worthy of love, who are you to tell them otherwise?

You don't have to return the feeling. But you can't tell them not to feel it.

Some people can be very stubborn about their feelings. Nothing you do will convince them otherwise.

I'm sure you know what a compromise is. You each concede something to the other. They agree to do something, you agree to do something.

It depends on the concession and how much it's required to establish harmony. It can be subjective and situational.

Not entirely. But there is an emotional component to it.
