Autumn, hm? It's a pretty season. Not quite as vibrant as Spring, but death is never as beautiful as life.

[Capturing an orange leaf, he smiles, inclining his head.]

Is there a reason I've been brought here? If you're having trouble, I'm happy to lend my assistance.

[Only... He has survived for years on ice and snow. Is there enough of that here to keep him going?]

[ Well. Kexing immediately relaxes upon seeing this. Then smirks as he fiddles with his own device until Zishu will see familiar white hair. ]

A-Xu!

[ He waves, as if this is absolutely, perfectly normal. ]

You should come to where I am! Spring has sprung, after all, and this Wen would be glad to share it with one as fine as you.

[Something within him relaxes upon seeing that hair. He smiles softly before he realizes he is making any expression at all.]

Spring, hm? Does that mean this place thinks you're warmer than I am?

[Zishu smirks and begins to walk. Then with a sudden leap, he launches himself into the sky.]

Do I have to go through Winter to find you?

[ His eyes warm in response, though he still pouts. ]

A-Xu is perfectly cold when he wants to be. Especially to this humble Wen.

[ Not that he minds! He likes getting to warm his soulmate right up. Kexing waves his fan slowly, moving serenely through a rather pretty meadow as he waits - coincidentally he's heading vaguely towards where he suspects Zishu is coming from. ]

Surely there is a suitable space for us between Winter and Spring.

Humble. [He repeats as if the word amuses him. And it does! His Lao Wen is a peacock and nothing less!]

Here I am braving Winter winds just for you!

[Zishu flies right through the edge of Autumn and into Winter, not hesitating as the cold air blows through his robes. Why should it bother him?]

[ His eyes sparkle at that mirth and it's clear effort that keeps the pout in place. ]

Aah! Very humble!

[ Then he clicks his tongue, shaking his head with a dramatic sigh. ]

Winter winds cannot touch my A-Xu. He is far too strong to be touched by even their greatest effort.

[ But then he softens and smiles at his beloved. ]

Come find me and see for yourself.

According to who? Other peacocks? [Zishu steps on a rooftop and leaps into the air again, soaring with a faint, satisfied grin on his lips.]

The seasons can't bother either of us anymore.

[He focuses on Kexing's face and nods.]

I won't be long.

A-Xu! [ He laughs even as he complains at the hit. ]

Of course they can't.

[ He'd given everything to his A-Xu. He hadn't expected to live through the giving, but he has no regrets now.

Kexing meets that tiny gaze warmly and hums.

And of course he's right there at the edge between Winter and Spring, peering intently out to see the first sign of his A-Xu in the flesh. ]

[He gives Kexing a warm smile full of promise before ending the feed. Then he focuses on flying through Winter as fast as he is able. When he sees the edge of Spring, his heart leaps and he looks around for white hair.

It doesn't take him long to see him. Zishu lands before his husband gracefully, walking forward to immediately give him a thorough inspection.]

You're alright.

[ There! His heart aches for the other, leaping with joy when he spies that familiar dark head flying to meet him.

Kexing does his own thorough inspection once they're close enough, tucking his fan away for now in favor of reaching for his husband's hands. Both to check and make sure whatever this manor of transit was hadn't harmed Zishu at all, and that no harm in general has been dealt to his other half. He finds nothing amiss, and only then does he relax and bask in the close presence of his husband. ]

So are you.

[Wen Kexing is a complicated, powerful opponent. If someone hurt him, Zishu would be concerned. But his husband is fine. Zishu lets out a long, relieved breath.]

You doubted me?

[He raises his brows, smirking playfully...haughtily.]

I wasn't sure about using the network, but now I'm glad I did. Spending even a night away from my Lao Wen would be a pain.

[Action]

[ Just as Zhou Zishu is. Anyone who manages to hurt Zishu would make Kexing more than a little concerned. And angry. But also pity that person.

He answers that haughty smirk equally and reaches out to pat his husband's cheek - or block a mock blow, he doesn't care which. ]

Me? Doubt the great and beautiful Zhou Zishu?

[ He hums in agreement, utterly at ease now. ]

There is no need for A-Xu to be in pain. His Lao Wen is here with him.

[Action]

[Zishu moves rapidly and catches Kexing's hand instead of blocking it. He then tugs his husband into his arms, nose to nose with his Lao Wen.]

We're away from the mountain. We need to find ice to sustain us.

[Though he is worried about that, he softens at Kexing's easy confidence.]

I don't want to undo what you accomplished.

[ Even better. Kexing is easily tugged into those arms and he tucks his fan away in favor of wrapping his arms around his husband's waist in return. He claims a soft kiss at that worry. ]

You won't. I think Winter will have what we need. And we can visit Spring and the other seasons easily enough.

[Well, that's new! Zishu smiles in welcome, hiding his surprise.]

It's actually the name of the manor my Master left me. Unfortunately it was burned down.

[On purpose; an act he could never forgive.]

I'm ready. [Except... Powers?] I take it that our powers are based on our seasons?

Oh, that's too bad. Losing something important left to you always sucks.

Each season has its own move set and you can learn what you can do from the guilds. Though since you're Autumn, you'll at least have earth based powers and I think something sleep based? If I remember right.

[He had lost...basically everything. It's a wonder he found happiness and reasons to live; reasons he won't take for granted.]

Those would be useful to me. [Since he is prone to nightmares from time to time.] I am a martial artist. How might I cultivate these powers? Are they similar to the ones I have already learned?

Well, for elemental powers we had a whole lesson of "elemental dancing". Otherwise, it's really just focusing on your magical energy you have inside of you and focusing it on the thing you want to do. At least that's how I get mine to work.

What steps are included in elemental dancing? [Zishu is very light on his feet. If it requires physical aptitude, he thinks he should fare alright.] So they really are our powers while we dwell here.

The dance part itself can be anything you want. As long as you focus on feeling the element you're associated with while you dance. Like feel the earth around your feet kinda thing.

I am accustomed to being connected to the elements. If there is nothing specific about harnessing them in this world, I should fare fine.

I don't think there's anything too specific. You might do really well with the powers from the start. It's all about trying.

Are there any downsides to using the powers? Fatigue? Certain prices to be paid?

Fatigue is pretty common. The magic operates on "magical energy" we all have. So the more you use the powers the less you have that.

At least that makes sense. I would be more cautious of it if there weren't any downsides to it.
