My fairy dog has gone missing. She got out early yesterday morning and I haven't been able to track her.

She looks like a Husky with blue wings and she is incredibly excitable. Her family misses her and I will offer a reward if necessary. We can discuss details privately.

[Zishu is looking a little rough. Fighting creatures tainted by darkness hasn't gone smoothly. He hisses as he wraps a bandage around his middle, securing it before he addresses the feed.]

Don't let a soft heart stop you from fighting with all of your strength.

[He snorts at himself and then winces.]

Or, better yet, just keep company like this.

[A flower fairy dog - in the shape of a grey and white husky with piercing blue eyes and equally blue wings - licks his cheek and he laughs.]

What qualities do you find attractive? These can be physical or based on someone's personality. I personally think the physical ones are particularly fun.

I like cute, pretty faces myself. And strong bodies. Someone who excels in martial arts is a plus! But I don't mind someone who is dainty.

Excuse me, I have a question for any and all of us who have experienced immortality.

Were you always immortal? If not, what was it like for you to first taste immortality? I understand the condition isn't a given in Ellipsa, but it does hold true in my world. My Master was immortal and now I wish I had asked her about it thoroughly.

I'm late, but the previous holiday made me wonder: how many of you have lost children? They don't have to be your biological children. I believe families can be built in countless ways.

[He had younger disciples that he had seen as brothers, for example. And then there is Chengling. His last disciple and the closest he will ever come to having a son.]

My point in bringing it up is simple: I have set up a memorial. Anyone anywhere is welcome to add names to it. This way we can remember those who once had so much potential.

Yina, sit. You'll get hurt if you keep trying to jump on me like that.

[ The video opens to a man sitting criss-cross applesauce in a patch of grass, looking some mix of exhausted, irritated, and resigned. The reason for his poor mood is clear enough. With all the cactus spines sticking out of his face (he looks like he has whiskers), arms, and chest, it looks for all the world like he fell face-first into a cactus patch. Which...isn't too far from the truth. The only difference is he didn't so much fall as he was mercilessly attacked and turned into a pin cushion.

A very fluffy, corgi-sized German Shepherd(?) with unique coloring is either trying to play with or comfort him. With how energetic and wiggly she is, it's unclear which one she's actually going for. Jinhai, not wanting her to get poked by one of the needles, is trying to gently push her to the side. It's not really working as intended. ]

C'mon, I'm bein' serious here. I'll draw you a bone later, so just settle down.

[ Finally listening to him, the dog seems to shrink??? in size??? as she hunkers down and slowly crawls towards him. She gently licks his hand (phone and all), whines sadly, and then flops onto his leg, defeated. Once she's settled, Jinhai finally tilts his phone up to address everyone properly, idly petting Yina with his free hand as he does so. He lets out a long, LOOOONG sigh. Time to get this over with. ]

Hey, so. If anyone's got some free time, I need a little help. I tried to fight some of those cacti critters in the spring segment and it didn't...exactly go well. I took care of 'em in the end, but not before I got sprayed by a bunch of their needles.

[ So many needles. Removing them was going to be such a pain. ]

I can get some of them myself, but the little sh--[ He starts to say "shits" but corrects himself. Kids could be listening. ]--guys managed to hit my back, so I can't reach most of the stupid things.

If anyone can lend a hand or two, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

[ The camera's view tilts to the sky as Jinhai absentmindedly flops onto his back. There's a pained yelp and a cut off curse as the video ends. ]

[He is at his clinic, reading from a big book on herbs. As he turns a page, rabbit ears pop into existence on his head. One droops and covers his eye, catching his attention.]

...oh dear. [He smooths the ear back and tuts.] Spring seems to be my destination later this week. If I seek out herbs as a rabbit, will it be easier, I wonder?

[That actually sounds...fun. Smiling to himself, Xingchen bows his head to the communicator.]

How is everyone? I want to remind everyone of Shan (山) Healing in Frostreign. If you are injured or sick, we use natural methods to encourage better health. Additionally, after your appointment, I always have some nice hot chocolate ready - with marshmallows if you like!

[The howling cry of a Banshee is obvious in his transmission. Zishu is watching the spirit sympathetically, but his sympathy only goes so far. The caterwauling is giving him a headache and so, eventually, standing, he faces the spirit and...

Cries back. Ridiculously. The Banshee flees in a rush and Zishu sighs, shaking his head.]

This is what I get for expanding my territory.

[But it's about to get more interesting. A pair of spirits circle around Zishu like a pair of sharks, testing his resolve. He can't see them, but his senses are keen enough to know he isn't alone. A branch is brandished at him like a sword and he looks...put out.

Really?

Very well. He knocks the branch away with his hand. Yes, he does have a sword, but it's not for branches!]

I might give you some of my power if you ask nicely.

[A rock is pelted at his back and he laughs.]

So it's like that?

I'm looking for a specific type of flower. It's small and white and it gives off a delicious scent. Maybe it's something like jasmine? I'm not sure. Its been awhile since I had any.

I think the butterflies will like it. {Granted they aren't real butterflies, but surely phantom butterflies love sweet scents too?}

I remember them blooming for most of the year or maybe I'm mistaken? It has been so long. My mind is getting old.

I was definitely spoiled back then. If I asked for them, someone would grow them even if it was the wrong season.

I know better now.

It's just the memories that I miss.

[Zishu's camera is focused on a large painting - a tree with blood red blooms springing forth from each branch. Under each bloom he has written in perfect calligraphy the names of those lost. His Master. His brothers. His little sister and her husband. The memorial is vibrant and warm despite its obvious grim purpose.]

How do you remember those lost? [He sets his brush aside and dusts off his hands.] Do you believe in ghosts? I think some people deserve to be haunted. Why should they get to forget their crimes?

Then I feel bad for the ghosts. Could you imagine haunting someone you hate for eternity? Bleh.

[He sticks out his tongue and then snorts, amused.]

Look! [Xingchen motions excitedly at a bush before reaching out his hand and touching the leaves. Flowers burst into life, the blooms a pure white.]

This is wonderful. I... I've never been able to make a plant grow or bloom!

[He has never had a chance to perfect his green thumb.]

I can't use this power in Coldreach. That wouldn't be fair to the plants. But what if I built a shelter for them? Oh I would love to have fresh flowers...

[But leaving the snug comfort of a glowing fire and snow drifting peacefully outside is tough!]

[He starts the feed with a laugh, a low chuckle that sounds...tired.]

Is that really considered entertainment? [The Hot or Not post is the cause of this mood.] I'll tell you this: if you are a good person who tries to help others and doesn't purposefully cause pain, you're beautiful. What you look like doesn't matter.

[So there. Learn something from a Master.]

(It's night and Padmé is on the beach, walking, barefoot, through the surf. Her dress is more like a robe, brushing against the sand with each step and her abundant hair is down, curling gently. She pauses, her toes dipping into the water just...barely.)

I can't sleep. Every time I close my eyes, I think of him; I think of all the ways I can fix what's been done. Having my hands tied here, even with the special powers, feels like a test.

I'm not as patient as I thought I was.

If you know something awful awaits you in your world, how do you cope with that knowledge here?

I'm curious, how many in our number are aware of martial arts? Are there any who have achieved immortality?

[All of this is asked as Zishu flies - yes flies - over a Wintry landscape without wings. He lands, briefly, on a rooftop, and then leaps back into the open air.]

Considering what is being asked of us and what we might encounter, I was thinking about offering lessons. My experience is surely enough to qualify me, but if you have doubts, I will do my best to dissuade them.

I work for our government now, you see. I want everyone to be heard, though, of course, we must all make sacrifices - some of us more than others. Such is the nature of living on a new planet.

(Padmé is sitting before a mirror, touching what look like...feathers?...in her hair. Feathers that are attached. They are pure white and so they definitely stand out against her dark curls.)

...this is new.

(She has seen others enjoying their animal forms, but this is...different, somehow.)

Does anyone recognize these feathers? I would like to be prepared if I turn into something shocking.

[Laughter tips off this recording, though it's difficult to say where it might originate. Snow surrounds the communicator and the sky is cold and grey above. There doesn't seem to be much joy to be had until...

A tiny weasel hops into view. He nudges the communicator playfully with his nose and then throws himself down on his side, wiggling his legs joyfully.]

Obey me. [Zishu's voice leaves the tiny creature and the ground under the communicator gives an obedient rumble. He laughs again and leaps into the air, bouncing with the rumbles.

Well, really, why shouldn't he enjoy himself?]
