My name's Evangeline, and I'm single and ready to mingle and all that - nice to meet everyone. -I'm not normally interested in other humans, but I've been asked to do a lot worse for energy production, so this isn't so bad.

That's not actually what I wanted to talk about though. I've only just gotten here and I've already gotten some serious culture shock reading through people's introductions and talking to locals. It's not so much that people have different answers to questions than me, but the whole basic questions are different, you know?

It's like - people have been saying what city they're from, but where I'm from, there's just one city. It's the City. You don't have to give it a name because it's the only one. There's more stuff like that, too, where I don't even really have the right words to explain the difference.

I was wondering if anyone else was having a similar experience?

Great deeds. Buuuuut that doesn't mean everyone in Elysium is kind and friendly and what have you. "Great" really just means you accomplished something that impressed the gods. Could be you were a great warrior, or a great ruler, or a great tyrant. Most other mortal souls end up in Asphodel. And the worst of the worst end up in Tartarus.

Hmmm... I probably wouldn't make it then. Unless the gods are impressed by seducing monsters twice your size, I'm great at that.

All kinds! I like tentacles as much as the next girl - way more, probably - but I'm also a sucker for wings, and claws, and tails, and horns... I've never met a monster I didn't think was cute.

Yeah, I do. Good luck finding monsters of any kind here, though, I've mostly only seen mortals so far.

I should've just made an advertisement for interested monsters, honestly.

True! There's no rush or anything, it seems like we'll be here for the long haul.

I wonder about that. I get that the power holders need our help, but there's obligations and things we have back home, too...

Well, for me, there's two ways it could shake out.

One, after we're done here we all get returned to our worlds at the exact point we left them, and I haven't missed anything at all.

Or two, after I get returned back to my world my bosses kill me for not showing up to work and it's no longer my problem what I've missed.

I hope it's the first one! But either way it's not really worth worrying about.

You raise a good point. I'll be in the same position either way... not like the Underworld ever stops taking in souls. My Father will almost certainly give me an earful, but that's business as usual, too.

I've heard divine family relationships are tricky, although I'm not really an expert.

The whole family is... a lot, at times, but it's the only one I've got, so my perspective is biased. Just a little. Mortals probably don't kill each other to settle arguments normally, I assume. Things would be awfully messy if they did.
