Hello! Hi!
[There's a cheerful-looking young woman in a suit, with a flower in her hair and a green armband.]
My name's Evangeline, and I'm single and ready to mingle and all that - nice to meet everyone. -I'm not normally interested in other humans, but I've been asked to do a lot worse for energy production, so this isn't so bad.
That's not actually what I wanted to talk about though. I've only just gotten here and I've already gotten some serious culture shock reading through people's introductions and talking to locals. It's not so much that people have different answers to questions than me, but the whole basic questions are different, you know?
It's like - people have been saying what city they're from, but where I'm from, there's just one city. It's the City. You don't have to give it a name because it's the only one. There's more stuff like that, too, where I don't even really have the right words to explain the difference.
I was wondering if anyone else was having a similar experience?

[ oh, my. isn't that something intriguing. the woman's voice that eventually speaks is soft, fluid - and yet undeniably cool, in its own way. ]
How has the Safety team been faring?

Business as usual - uh, ma'am? We're the top energy-producing department at my branch.

[ hardly sufficient. and yet, undeniably true in its own way. ]
What rank were you, child, in your time with the corporation?

Of course, you would only have one city, which doesn't have a name; humans are boring and unimaginative no matter what world you come from.

I like your username.

Yeah? Well, they wouldn't let me use that as my official title but I'm here now and no one can stop me.

If you aren't interested in humans, what are you interested in?

You've got gorgeous horns.

[ At least it sounds like a sincere compliment from her, rather than a cover for "I have a succubus fetish". ]
I've been called a monster before, but not as often as you might think. Demon hunters are pretty rare these days.

I can't say that I'm having a similar experience myself. If anything, I would say having regions divided by season isn't too different from each country having an Archon dedicated to one of the elements.

Like. At all? Or just uh...
[ he makes some gestures with his hands but it isn't much clearer. He might be a little biased in the human department. ]

I mean, there's nothing wrong with humans. They just don't do it for me? I don't look at them and go 'that human is hot' the way I would with... pretty much anything else?

Well... I been havin' to relearn physics, of all things. Gravity hits a lot different when it's the same just 'bout everywhere I go!
Ain't that way back in the land of the dead. Lotsa new Reapers have stepped on backward gravity spots and got shot up into the air, only to respawn the next day 'cause they died up there.
[A short, short pause in thought -]
... 'S kinda comfortin' in a way. Means folks here can't use it to haze newbies like people did back there.

I totally get that part, there's so many things that can kill you at home that just aren't a problem here. It's a nice vacation, honestly, even if it is weird.

But we thought we were the last humans alive anywhere, so that perspective was different. I still only barely understand what a "nation" is or does, but it doesn't matter that much to me. I understand "city" though.
But I haven't really met anyone else with a similar experience either, so I guess in that way it's kind of like what you're talking about.

Demons from every other world I've talked to people from thus far have been very different. I've not heard of this "hell" before, but it seems like everyone else has or at least has heard of some sort of equivalent.
Where I'm from, Demons, while having something of a unique background, are residents of the world the same as everyone else.
no subject
We have the stories of Hell, although I couldn't tell you if they're true or not.
What are demons like, where you're from?
