I've got a question for anyone willing to answer.
Would you say you come from a generally peaceful world or a violent one?

There are a lot of ways to support those who are suffering other than to fight. And the efforts mean something even if they don't succeed.
Most of the time it's the latter, they can't be bothered. Apathy, or worse, a sense of superiority. As if they're safe not because of a quirk of fate deciding the circumstances of their birth, but because they're special. They figure they're fine, so who cares about those people dying on the other side of the world? Or they think they can't possibly be of any help, being just one person, so they don't even try.
Like I said, I get it. Not everyone can fight, and not everyone should. It'd just be nice if more people cared.

I think I understand what you mean. People take their good fortune for granted, leaving others to suffer and starve.

I gather that your world is the violent sort. Those from peaceful worlds don't have the perspective you seem to.
