It was not a decision made lightly, I assure you. In the end, the only thing that could stop the cycle of destruction was to split that world into its constituent parts. For the people who were originally from those worlds, it will be like it never existed. For the people born within it, they willingly made that sacrifice.

I helped, but I wasn't one of them. That honor would go to my daughter.

More than I can express.

Beyond the fact that I was pulled here before the split finished? I was never in that world's cycle of reincarnation, I entered through different means. I was always a part of that small handful that will remember.

No, not really. While most were recorded in the Origin supercomputer and later reincarnated, myself and three others were simply brought there in our entireties. A result of us essentially having administrative access to Origin.

Oh. I was in a similar situation about a thousand years ago. My world, Alrest, had a sudden technology jump after an ancient remnant of the planet's previous civilization was uncovered.

To put it simply, Origin was using some very complicated math to predict what a merge of the two worlds would be like, and I had a pass to look at it's inner workings before an outside force made the simulation real.

I say outside, but it wasn't really. Z was fear, the fear of everyone in Alrest and Bionis that didn't want to face an uncertain future. It all came together to create a being on par with a god, who was capable of using Origin to trap us all in an "endless now."

Honestly, I've barely scratched the surface here.
