I need to confirm something. There isn't a weird disease going on that makes our powers go haywire, right? Since that happened in the previous world I was in. Sort of like a magical flu?
[How very specific of a question this is. Strangely specific.]
If not I guess I just learned how to breathe fire. I've been trying to do that for a while, but I didn't expect it to happen all of a sudden. Sometimes learning these powers is really weird.
[He did sneeze, but that was mostly because a fallen leaf tickled his nose. He doesn't really feel like he's catching a flu, but... who knows.
There's evidence of a random wooden bridge in Sunwaning having been on fire, smoke still rising from the railings and very confused natives over the now burned up parts of the bridge.]
Anyway, does anyone know how to repair things yet or should I just start doing this manually...

Repairing things is... a winter thing, right? Do you know any winters?

[Then a sneeze jeopardizes everything.]
A few. I guess I could call any of them and see if they've picked up the skill. Or I could just do the repairs myself as a punishment.

Mine seems no more out of control than before.
I would give you tips on how to keep it under control, but I have yet to figure it out in my nearly two centuries of life...
Just get used to destroying things, I guess. Keep backups.
no subject
[Which was a nice change of pace from Empatheias where stubbing your toe meant likely setting something on fire.]
And I'd rather keep it that way.
no subject
Well there's no need to brag.
[POUTS. Humans and their ability to control their emotions and stuff!]
Maybe you're just not as good at controlling your breath.

[He's now only realizing he kinda did, unintentionally. The guy did say he hadn't figured it out.]
Controlling my breath? I hadn't really thought about that.

[He caused an arson! She's so proud- and maybe teasing him just a little bit.]

If I'd want to take a page out of your book, sure.

You say that as if it would be a bad thing.

[Definitely teasing him.]

Ah I admit, I'm new here, but so far I have not heard of any sort of flu. Are you otherwise unharmed?
no subject
Ah, yeah. No one was hurt.
no subject
Ah, good. I would have offered assistance if there were injuries.

At least until one learns how to do so on their own?

Maybe it's not the fire breathing ability. Maybe it's the curse of the dragon. It's finally catching up with you.
[You know, the dragon from Avalon. (Jean may or may not notice that Hijikata is in an unusual location, sitting by a sunlit window in a house with sand-coloured walls.)]
no subject
There's no curse. I may have gotten hit by it but I haven't been cursed. I would have been warned about that!
[Probably.
He does notice the slightly odd change of scenery but doesn't comment on it. Not yet, at least.]
no subject
[He won't take the joke too far, though. He knows all too well how Jean sustained his werewolf curse, and that was absolutely no fun.]

I'll just turn your fire harmless!
[Bantering with Jean feels good... Hijikata hopes that his anniversary celebrations with Mikasa kept him off the network and therefore unaware of his shitshow, and so far it seems that way.]
What did you burn, anyway?
