My name is Jean Kirstein and I'm a soldier deployed in a branch called Survey Corps, which is basically a combat unit meant to fight the monsters in our world and gain back the lands we lost.

[A simple enough introduction and also a lead into why he's making this post.]

I wanted to know many of us here have military experience? I figured it would be useful to know so we could either train together or teamup otherwise when needed. Especially if our experiences align well.

I suppose the military is something you just can't escape, huh?

It really depends on the squad you end up with. My captain just happens to be a clean freak and wants us to clean every single place where we end up in.

In other words, he's too lazy to clean up after himself.

Goodness, he is certainly a fearsome leader! I'm not sure if I should be worried or envious of you.

I'd be more envious, considering he's our humanity's strongest soldier. I'd rather have him by my side than against me.

I mentioned we fight monsters and by we I meant humanity. Aside from regular animals, the world's divided into humans and titans. He's able to single handedly destroy various titans in one fight when a regular soldier like me needs help from others.

Goodness, is that what kind of world you live in? You must fight giants everyday or else?

No wonder you want to form a military here. There is a chance that one might come here. Although, I like to think that we have a wide variety of people here.

Not everyday, but a lot. Especially if we want to explore the world outside out safe zones. You can live a fairly easy life if you don't join the military and live as far away from the outside world as possible.

[Or if you joined the military and joined the branch that focused there which he wanted to do, but... he would have eventually ended up in battle he's pretty sure. If not against titans, then against other people.]

I don't really want to form a military, I'm just curious about what kind of experience people have and if we could bool out strengths and knowledge together to help this place.

Even so, it still sounds like a dangerous world to live in regardless if you join the military. There is always the worry of titans attacking.
