[It's a video of a young man (around 18) standing sitting on a couch. Somehow making this kind of a post had become a habit. But if they had yet another world to save, he supposed it was going to be useful to know.]

We get a lot of these kinds of posts, but since we're just starting I guess that's understandable. So one more, at least.

[He's not a stranger to the network, but it still felt pretty awkward to make a post, especially now that this was yet another group of mostly strangers.]

My name is Jean Kirstein and I'm a soldier deployed in a branch called Survey Corps, which is basically a combat unit meant to fight the monsters in our world and gain back the lands we lost.

[A simple enough introduction and also a lead into why he's making this post.]

I wanted to know many of us here have military experience? I figured it would be useful to know so we could either train together or teamup otherwise when needed. Especially if our experiences align well.

[He shrugs, then.]

Or if you're not in military, maybe you can tell about what it's like, if you know.

We're primarily an energy production corporation. The goal is to extract energy from work with the Abnormalities. More Abnormalities means more energy means more money.

And employees are more easily replaceable than Abnormalities.

The higher-ups would disagree with you. At least they don't pretend to care, I think that'd just piss me off.

It's not great, but you do get used to it. Which probably isn't a good thing, but still.

At least here seems nice? Even if it's significantly worse than it looks on the surface, it'd still be better than home. So there's that.

That's pretty much how I'm feeling about it too. I'm worried about how my parents are doing.

Oh, that'd be handy. Even my bosses couldn't get pissed off for that.

[And they get mad about all kinds of things.]

They're hard to keep secrets from, but in this case I don't know how they'd find out.

Probably... I don't think we have any technology for detecting time shenanigans...

[spoiler, yes they do.]

I'll try not to worry about it too much. Whether it's fine or I'm screwed if I go back, there's nothing I can do about it now.

Got it. It's nice talking to someone with a little bit of experience in the area, though.

wrapup probably
