[ Lahabrea hasn't made his presence known much since his arrival here. Nevertheless, he has a question he wishes to ask that may spark a lively debate. He has no need for anonymity on his part, so this mysterious "orator" can be addressed accordingly. After much thought, he decides to type the following: ]

What makes you worthy of existence?

The question is relatively simple: What makes you deserving of existence? Have you made any contributions to the Star from which you come?

Or do you exist solely because of your own will? If so, explain why.

[Unhinged is an understatement, but Lahabrea does his best to keep it under control. He is not the cackling lunatic he eventually becomes.]

In order to achieve perfection, sacrifices must be made. This was the creed I always followed when creating some of the most influential creatures to ever exist. In spite of this, I'm now wondering if striving for perfection is what led to the downfall of my people.

( There really is something unsettling about the phrase achieve perfection, especially when it's followed with talk about sacrifices, surrounded with the idea of justify your existence to me.

[On any other day, Lahabrea would have ignored their rants. However, after chasing the allure of "perfection" all the way to his death, he's more willing to listen—or rather, read—the opinions of those others. His search for answers has led him to this precise moment.]

If there is no such thing as perfection, what was I pursuing? This is the question that haunts me. The world I was attempting to create was one of perfect balance, with each creature serving a purpose and fulfilling its role. However, in doing so, I helped to herald the end. While Etheirys did not die at my hand, the Final Days did arrive.

( Kate has to admit, this is not the context in which she expected her coach's old lessons would rise back to the surface. Not that she ever expected to be having this conversation, or taking it so seriously, in the first place. )

( Okay so she still has to be a little shit first. But really, that idea of a world seems so... boring? And she'll be the first person to say that change can be shit (her life has proved that enough already) but if all everything can ever do is fill a predetermined role...

[Of course, she would not know. Nobody does. If renowned scholars like him can't find the answers, why should he expect anyone else to? Lahabrea was about to accept his fate until he received another response.

He stares down at the text for a long while before finally replying. However, what he says next may confuse them even further.]

As we populated our perfect world with magicks, our world was suddenly tainted by great evil unbeknownst to us. Instead of creating life, we produced foul abominations that quickly turned on us and decimated our entire planet. All life ceased to be as the last dregs of our aether was slowly drained and ceased to be.
