[ Lahabrea hasn't made his presence known much since his arrival here. Nevertheless, he has a question he wishes to ask that may spark a lively debate. He has no need for anonymity on his part, so this mysterious "orator" can be addressed accordingly. After much thought, he decides to type the following: ]

What makes you worthy of existence?

According to your belief, everyone has the right to live regardless of their deeds and contributions to society. If so, does this generosity also extend to those who may have committed egregious crimes in the past?

You've got it backwards. Living isn't about 'right' or 'worth'. It's half luck and half the consequences of people's choices.

Like, if you commit an egregious crime and someone kills you for it, you're not dead because you weren't worthy of living. You're dead because you pissed someone off who was able to kill you.

That begs the question: is existence merely a consequence of one's actions and nothing more profound? If so, why continue to exist? Those who made the decision did not consider the consequences before making it without your counsel.

Does life itself hold more meaning than mere happenstance?

[Despite this, Lahabrea wonders if he regrets having a son. While a part of him loves Erichthonios as a father should, he recognizes that he made a mistake in choosing Athena as his partner. He has lamented over that decision every day since their marriage.]

I continue to exist because I like living. Don't you like living?

A valid question, one I hesitate to answer now that I am unable to fulfill the duty assigned to me.

...Is this question because you think you've lost your worth?

For someone like me, remaining in a state of atrophy is akin to death. While the people of Ellipsa are gracious hosts, I am constantly seeking a way to restore Etheirys to its former glory, with little success. It's a pointless endeavor, one that I refuse to abandon due to a vexing emotion I'd rather not mention.

Sincerely? I think you should take up a hobby while you're here. Something you can improve skill in, like art or an instrument, and find enjoyment in.

If you just have one goal and it's one you can't make any progress towards right now, anyone would be frustrated.

[Hobbies? What are hobbies when you're a seemingly immortal entity? A sigh escapes Lahabrea as he reads this message.]

Mayhap you're right. Having a few hobbies to pass the time would be useful, but I doubt anyone would appreciate me designing new beastly creations on this star.

I would, but I am definitely the exception rather than the rule.

Truly? Then, I suppose, I shouldn't be too reserved about recreating some of my mythic creations here.

I did bring the most harmless monster from home over here with a wishing star. As long as they don't cause any danger to other people, you should be mostly fine?

I must admit that I struggled in the past to make these mythical creations less...dangerous. However, I believe this is a worthwhile challenge. Perhaps the creature I create will be of use to us in the distant future.
