A Debate [text | un: orator]

[ Lahabrea hasn't made his presence known much since his arrival here. Nevertheless, he has a question he wishes to ask that may spark a lively debate. He has no need for anonymity on his part, so this mysterious "orator" can be addressed accordingly. After much thought, he decides to type the following: ]

What makes you worthy of existence?

[That's just one of many questions to come.]

[If Frieda were purely the sum of her life experience - an 18 year old girl -, she'd find philosophically debating Lahabrea somewhat daunting, much as she sympathises with him. But as it is, her repertoire of memories enables her to simply go along with his questioning of her stance.]

The perspective that matters is that of the innocents who were harmed - in this case, the world looking at its enemy. And if that enemy can recognise the harm they've done, they'll have to agree, too. So everyone's perspectives will align.

The problem is that far too often, the enemy refuses to recognise their evil and, feeling righteous, keeps perpetuating harm.

If we were to assume a situation in which neither group is wholly innocent and/or both are competing for a limited amount of vital resources, the happiness of the greater number must be prioritised. Sacrificing the majority for the minority is wrong.

[As she relives her ancestors' memories, experiencing them as if they were her own, her own personality increasingly takes a backseat, unlike back when she spoke with Lahabrea in person. Otherwise, she'd be more mindful of her phrasing, knowing of his devastating fate.]
