If this adventure with chain mail has taught me anything, 'tis that many of us here are having our first exposure to the internet, with all its amusements and pitfalls included. Thus, I thought it might be nice to introduce another 'getting to know each other' game that some of us might not know yet. This one won't involve pictures or ratings of attractiveness, not to worry.
This game is called 'two truths and a lie'. The premise is simple. You list three statements about yourself, two true and one false. Ideally they should all be similar levels of unbelievable. Then, other people respond to you to guess which one is the lie. We all learn a little about each other and have a bit of fun.

And it just got you several kettles of fish, figuratively speaking?

[ Hm. Too bad he can't word this any more strongly without things being lost in translation.
He pauses for a moment, debating if he wants to add what he ends up sending below. It's fine if he doesn't give any specific details or the nitty gritty stuff, he figures, and more than anything he's just relieved to know someone else has experience with the kind of tomfoolery gods pull.]
And I got a blessing I didn't ask for that's just caused bigger problems.

Yeah. When they try to help it can almost be worse than when they try to hurt.

But those were "small gods", the local ones in charge of little and not-so-little things on the ground. He was not prepared for the sheer ridiculousness of the gods up in Heaven.
...That said, he doesn't know if the Unconquered Sun was actually trying to help him when he gave him his blessing. Sure it's the reason he didn't end up a smoking pile of ash at the time, but surely the all-seeing sun would know that most people now believe his blessing is a sign of demons actually? Then again, he was once told the sun saw "the potential for greatness" in his Chosen.
Maybe there was no point in him trying to figure out some god's ineffable plan. It was already done regardless.]
Honestly, I don't really know if they're even thinking about helping when they do whatever it is they do.

[ And that trait in gods or in humans is never good for those around them. Nico knows that his godly parent wasn't thinking when he and Bianca were born. They weren't part of a plan then, but then he stashed them away until he could use them later.
Maybe Hades hadn't seen it like that, though. ]
Mortals who don't catch their eye must live happy lives.

...Well, it doesn't really feel right to sugarcoat it, either. ]
I don't know about that. There are plenty of miseries a mortal can experience without a god meddling.

If you say so. Are you Godblooded?
[ It would certainly explain the amount of meddling that was apparently involved. ]

Skylark will figure out the implications of that later since he's having a moment of going "wait, the Underworld has a god???" and then remembers it's probably a different underworld.
More importantly, this is the first time he's ever met someone who's also the child of a god, and he's just running through a few different feelings in succession. ]
Suddenly "ghostking" makes a lot of sense.
Son of a navigation god.

Mom or dad?

[ "Ostensibly" because the idea of calling him his father still makes him want to not do so out of sheer spite. ]

I supposed it'd be demigod? Mortal child of a god?

I think dogs can count.

[ That was meant to be a question but he's busy going "what". ]
