ellipsanet | Mini Event: Network Misfires... 2!

It starts with a network post from a generic "researchcentre" account. The video feed shows what appears to be an empty cubicle, and a few employees gossiping in the background.

"Can't believe he brought the cat to work again."

"Who, Gary? Yeah, I heard Helene felt bad for him."

The cat in question creeps into the video, curiously nosing and pawing at the screen, as the conversation continues.

"I don't blame her. I saw his dream a couple weeks back, and Buttercup looked so sad alone at home!"

"Oh, that dream cloud thing? What a disaster. Can't believe Bartholomew holds down a job."

"At least it's been a couple years since the cat caused an incident..."

As if on cue, Buttercup gets bored and starts walking on the keyboard. The feed cuts off.

Welcome to a Mini Event! Much like last time around, the network server's having cat-related difficulty, so all network messages have a chance of going to the wrong recipient. It doesn't need to happen, but there's a high chance of misfires happening for the duration of the mini event.

This post can be used for sending out messages that can end up for anyone and everyone completely without meaning to. Feel free to also just send a blank message with your character and receive messages from others! Whatever works best for you and is most fun.

This event will happen for the whole weekend, starting from now and ending on late Sunday night (so March 6-9) once they finally manage to fix the mistake. As always, backtagging is encouraged.

Remember to put warnings up if you want to post anything NSFW-ish and especially link pictures; however, if anything gets explicit (e.g. sexting), remember to move it to inboxes or another post.

[Attached is a collection of pictures of Lucifer in various states of undress. Him in the mirror doing a sexy selfie, him on his bed, him lounging in a throne, he's wearing his open shirt, fishnets, sometimes boots, in one he's barefoot for his hooves can be seen. Some he sticks out his snake tongue.]

[Dick just stares at his phone for a good long while in confusion before replying wondering what the hell is going on.]

Uh... I guess can make you pancakes if you want?

Why the sudden urgency though?

No no. I'm making the pancakes. And you come eat them with me. Quality time.

[Dick is thinking Lucifer is just doing this because he hasn't been in for a session for a while.

Doesn't make this any less strange but pancakes! Sure he's not really meant to have too many of them but that just makes him want them more.]

[Lucifer did mean to send the pancake invitation to someone else. Someone rather tall, blond, and handsome. So when he answers the door and sees Dick he does pause. He looks at his phone and back to Dick. Ooooh duckies.]

Hellooooo Dick. Come on in. The pancakes are warm. [He feels awkward about saying anything now. Especially with how fast Dick accepted the invitation.]

[Well...this was awkward. Even though he had asked about the urgency, this was obviously a mistake. His ears flicked back as he stepped in. How was he meant to handle this?]

Great. Who am I to can say no to free food?

[Dick's tail curled as he smirked, he could just be honest and give Lucifer a free out of the awkwardness at the same time.]

Although I do suspect this was a bribe to get me talking to my therapist more, but you wouldn't do that~

No it wouldn't be that bad, bribery is such a dirty word but this would have been a pretty cute case, if did do that.

I am doing the same. Might make a poster out of one of them. The little one running after his mom. That ons is adorable.

You could totally make a motivational poster out of that. Not sure what it would say though.

Back home I have people for the PR messaging.

Oh, yeah, I guess that's not really a boss kind of job. Someone tried to put motivational posters up in my facility once? They got defaced pretty quickly.

I mean, given your employers, that doesn't surprise me. At all. Did you deface any?

I drew X's over the eyes of some of the people in the posters, but that's about all I did. Other people were more creative.

What was your favorite?

There was a cat poster that said 'hang in there!' and someone wrote 'we have no other option, morons' on it. Simple but effective.

Now that's poetry.

I did know a guy who was writing actual poetry about it. Said it helped him feel like there was some kind of meaning to it all. I don't have any memorized unfortunately.

If it would make you happy, you could use a wishing flower to get it from home.

I wasn't close with him or anything - not with most of my coworkers - so I feel like I could think of something better to get with that.
