I hope everyone's okay now! Cleaning up after all that is HARD but at least my house didn't get hit too bad... Does anyone need help with anything after last week? Oh, and speaking of my house, we just added a bunch of expansions! We've got an indoor pool now! Friends can come over whenever! I think I know most people on here anyway, and Mary-chan's got a bunch of friends too.
Also also! During that whole thing I tried the full shapeshift. You know, the dragon skill that changes you on the inside and not just the outside? I did it to be more giraffe than I already am because I thought it would help me fight. And it was like, whoa! I could see everything! And hear everything! And I kinda kicked a guy into a wall! Does anyone know how to deal with sensory overload if I ever do that again because it's kind of a lot and by kind of I mean a lot a lot.

P.S. Hina-chan's turning one on the 7th! If you're friends with her come over then! We'll have blood cake and regular cake.

[So much concern in this entire post.]

But I meant shapeshifting so drastically like that.

[Rinku had mentioned that she was already stuck with some features from regular shapeshifting...]
For sensory overload, try adjusting slowly if you can until you are used to it, or focusing on your other senses.
It took me a while to get used to using my eyes again after having them sealed for so long, so I can understand that feeling.

How are you feeling now? With your eyes and stuff.

Found out that vampires don't like me, but otherwise fine.
I don't have familiarity with giraffe sensory overload but when stuff like that happens I try to shift my focus on just one thing and gradually open up.

Huh... That sounds hard, but I guess I should try and learn that hyperfocus thing next. I can already do it sometimes not even trying, but other times I can't focus even if I want to.

I found out I'm like, literally heartless and have no blood.

Also the electronics have been a mess, but I've been busying myself with helping repair them. It's the least I can do.

un: spinjockey;
you're gonna want to sit in a dark room
that's as quiet as possible.
that's what i do when i get overloaded
otherwise
i end up punching through a wall
or something stupid.
you can always come down to the shed if you need it
that's one of the reasons i keep it dark.
[Mr. Man over here deals with a lot of sensory issues; better to set up the space where he lives to accommodate that.]

For sensory overload, would it help to try it when you have someone you can use as an anchor? Most of the time when I got new blessings we'd try it out in the training area so it doesn't take us by surprise, but it means it's 1 on 1 and easier to get used to how it works.

An anchor is like someone or something that keeps you grounded and gives you focus. So say you have a lot of bright lights, loud music and everything, but you know someone is nearby that you know well and they hold your hand--it's reassuring that they're there, right?
Something like that anyway.

Do you have any advice for the extra strength too? I know the Nightshade are bad news, they mind controlled me once, but I didn't mean to kick one of them straight into a concrete wall!
no subject
As for the strength side, it just takes practice. You kind of get used to the switch over time--until then practice on someone who can take it. I don't mind helping with that part if you need it.
Not like I enjoy being kicked into walls... but at least I have a shield, heal fast and am honestly used to it.
