[ As the screens of everyone's various devices flicker to life, it's quiet for a few moments. The background remains black, all except for the rather ominous glare of someone's glasses in the darkness. ]

So. I've been here for a few weeks, and I gotta tell ya... other than a few statues wreaking havoc, this place kinda sucks. It lacks variety. It lacks fun, y'know? So, tell me your ideas of 'fun'. Also--

[ The figure leans out of frame for a second, fumbling as he struggles to reach for a light, too lazy to even get up -- and as the light comes on, he flails back into center again as his seat nearly topples over with his weight. He clears his throat and laces his clawed fingers together, resting his chin on them as he props his elbows up on the table he sits at. ]

--ahem. Anyways! Fun. What do you do around here for that? 'Cause I'm getting boooooored~ And when I get boooooored things haaaaaappen~ I mean, I guess it wouldn't hurt to make a little fun of my own, but no one here really deserves that just yet.

[ He suddenly begins laughing stupidly hard, as if he's just made the funniest joke in the entire world. ]

I'm gonna ask that no one talks about making friends or any of that crap, though. I'm not about that. I'm just here for a good time, and I generally tend to spend most of my time alone anyways. Unless I can interest anyone in becoming my minions, but y'know. That's probably a little too much to ask. Maybe.

What kind of hobbies do you have outside of what you do for your boss? You know magic, is that all or do you have other interests for past times?

[He's currently amongst bookshelves, picking out some for research purposes.]

I'm pretty good with mechanical things. [ And by pretty good, he means he's a literal mechanical genius-- ] I can probably make weapons for fun or something, but something tells me that'd go real unappreciated around here.

[ He rocks dangerously far back in his chair, grinning as he gets it to balance on the back two legs. ]

What have you been up to? Studying?

I can't speak for weapons. The challenge I've found is just getting enough funds to do the projects. I may need to look for a junk yard. I don't usually like second hand materials, but at least I can use old appliances for something.

How are the machines here to your world? Comparable?

I've been trying to find a way to study what's blocking the dimensional gate and I offered to help someone with a project. Which has given me some guidance to learn more about the flora and fauna here, so it has been personally productive.

Ah, right. Funds. Sorta forgot about that, too... [ He's still grinning, though, despite the realization. ] Looks like we're in the same boat. Junkyards can be pretty cool though, y'know. You never know what sorts gems you're gonna find!

Eh, some of them are a little lackluster. Others I've never seen before. I'm surprised this place has airships, though. I have one of my own at home, so I'd really like to get my hands on one. And who knows? Maybe we can pilot one outta here when the time is right.

Any gate can be unlocked with the right key. I'm glad you've found something to preoccupy your time with though, at least for now.

My family always had money and we could steal whatever couldn't be bought, but that much thievery in a short amount of time is more trouble than its worth. At least not without anything specific in mind for it all.

But I have used old machines on the fly, when time was short or resources were scarce. Its just irksome. But if you see a junk yard, we could go, ugh, scavenging.

Oh, we definitely can. The dimensional gate does better with a vehicle. Its a rough ride so it is usually better to put that strain on a vehicle over your body. My body can take it, but its also not a great time.

Same. That's generally what we did too. [ And hilariously, Bowser didn't complain because it kept them busy and entertained and out of his hair-- ] Agreed, dude. We're stupidly outnumbered here, I think. I did go earn a little cash the other day, though, and I found something kinda cool in the autumn segment. It was this flooded portion of a cemetery, and I could see fish that looked kinda like skeletons! We have fish like that at home, too... sorta.

[ He's still determined to catch one, too, damn it. ]

We should definitely go scavenging! I'll bet you'll even end up liking it~ One man's junk is another man's treasure! Or something like that.

Weeeeeell, if we can get our hands on an airship and get it ready, then it might be worth looking into. I know I can pilot one, but we might need to get it ready and... well, let's be real. We have plenty of time right now. Maybe a side project?

Same. I think I'd fo even crazier if I didn't have something to do constantly...

[ Which is why he is complaining on the network right now, in fact! ]

[There is an ever so slight sparking of embers in his hair at the mention of skeleton fish.] We probably are. And while that is not necessarily new, I had resources at home at least. One needs either numbers or resources to really compete on any meaningful scale.

I have been doing the quests myself. They are somewhat interesting. Though the Chir Batti acting like an angler fish wasn't too difficult to handle.

I will never like getting anything second hand, but its better than nothing at this point. I don't even have my car. [He misses his car. It was a good car!]

Its been a while since I piloted a large air ship, so that would be convenient. Lets see about getting one. I was thinking about getting the license, since they're not making the paperwork a pain to deal with.

I know the feeling. Really, half the reason I've thrown myself into research is because I can't be tinkering on something.

Well, it could always be worse, right? We're not entirely destitute. Even if honest work totally sucks.

I haven't taken on a whole lot yet myself but I'm trying. Still think it'd be easier to steal but laying a little low isn't a bad priority, either, I suppose. Mostly.

Dealing with a few ants is nothing, but a whole swarm is quite difficult and that really is the issue at hand unfortunately.

It's doubtful. I was nowhere near my vehicles at the time. As in a whole other dimension.

It's one of those they are not necessary, but every once and a while it makes something so much simpler and since they're making it simple, I'll do it.

I guess we just gotta try and save up, then. Things like [ He mimics quotes in the air with his fingers. ] "rent" really out a damper on things, though. Not gonna lie, but I'm definitely not scared to live on a park beach if it means keeping my money as mine and not handing it off to someone's else. It'll be like camping, except way worse.

[ Which... actually, yeah, if he can handle being on the offense in the great wide open wilderness against Fawful and his forces, then this will be a cake walk. ]

Foooor now. Sometimes ants have to be stepped on, and I do very much enjoy poking dangerous things with sharp sticks...

Lame! That sucks, but maaaaybe we can get you another one somehow? Or build one.

I suppose so! [ He rubs his chin, looking thoughtful. ] It would definitely make getting hold of one a whole lot easier.
