[The screen focuses on a slim, pale man with light green hair and golden eyes. There is a white snake wrapped around his neck, peering at the camera with a similar intensity to the man himself as he ensures that he has set the thing up correctly.

When he realises that he has, his expression clears and settles into a mild, warm smile.]

Ah, there we are.

[His voice is soft, faintly lilted almost as if he's always on the edge of gently chastising someone, but he keeps it pleasant as he speaks.]

My name is Baizhu, a doctor, pharmacist and herbalist from the country of Liyue in Teyvat. I find myself brought into this curious situation with the rest of you, and thought it only polite to offer an introduction along with an offer of my services.

[He pauses, thinking for a moment.]

... Though the advancements of this world when compared to my own may render a good amount of my medical expertise entirely outdated, I believe that some here may still find more comfort in turning to it than relying on more unfamiliar methods.

[Another brief pause, the snake on his shoulders flicks out her tongue, and he smiles again.]

To that end, I would be curious to meet other individuals who have experience in the medical field. I can hardly miss the opportunity to develop my own studies further with the potential of knowledge from other worlds. Please feel free to contact me at your leisure if you're interested.

I'm quite accustomed to running my own business so I can't say how I would fare as an employee, but it would be my pleasure to look around if you're happy to have me.

You've run your own business before?! That's amazing! This is a first for me, so any pointers or help you might have would be great!

If not an employee a consultant for the clinic is fine too. But we do have a greenhouse and are looking for pharmacists/herbalists like yourself. But if you want to think about that's fine too.

I will consider it, but I see no reason to dismiss the idea out of hand.

In the meantime I will accept your offer to come and take a look around. Obviously I have no pressing engagements at this moment in time, so we can arrange it to your convenience.

Well I'm still getting the clinic up and running, so you're more than welcome to stop by now if you like. Or I can come to get you? This place is pretty big and getting lost is easy. Are you in Nightwake?

Well these little devices of ours have maps built into them! Let's meet halfway and go from there! [ Shigeru will send him a message with coordinates to where they should meet. ]

[And, as it happens, he doesn't have any trouble at all. When he arrives at the building he sends Shigeru another message to tell him where he currently is, and a couple of identifying features.

There aren't many men with red-rimmed glasses, waist-length green hair and a white snake wrapped around their shoulders hanging around, so he shouldn't be too difficult to find.]

[ Shigeru will arrive sometime after Baizhu since he wanted to give the other man ample time to arrive. And true to their word Baizhu is definitely there as described. He wasn't actually expecting a man with a snake wrapped around their shoulders but he's seen far stranger things since arriving here, and back home. ]

Baizhu, right?! It's nice to meet you in person!

[ And not much of a surprise that this man is also very good-looking?? Everyone here is just so damn handsome or beautiful?! ] I'm glad you didn't have any trouble getting here. I know for some the technology of this place isn't exactly like theirs back home. So if you have any questions about it that hasn't already been answered, feel free to ask!

[He does do a small double-take when Shigeru doesn't speak, but he quickly adjusts and reads the information given. Questions, he thinks, will be best kept to a minimum to avoid the other man having to spend too much time writing all of his answers out.

I'll be sure to mention it if I think of any. [Baizhu replies smoothly and with a polite smile as he gives a small bow in greeting to the other man.] I'm looking forward to seeing just how different everything in here is.

Then let's head over then! The clinic is going to have all the basics and a small lab in the back for testing patient samples [ A thoughtful look as he starts to walk, typing as he does so. Shigeru seems pretty used to this type of thing as he dodges and avoids all manners of things?? He types pretty darn fast too so Baizhu doesn't wait long for another written message. ]

I'm not sure how familiar medical terms are over the span of different worlds but...the machines here can do complete blood cell counts and all sorts of other things. There's also going to be a microscope and a greenhouse out back for growing herbs to heal, reduce pain/fevers, and whatever new effects we can find. I guess you'd be more interested in the herbs and stuff here, right? There are so many varied types around I've never seen anything like it before.

It seems my own medical knowledge is going to be vastly outclassed. [Baizhu says, though he sounds more amused by the prospect than anything else. Shigeru is not wrong when he assumes the herbs would be of interest, though, so he does give a small nod to that.]

But I'm looking forward to being able to add some new skills to my current repertoire. It wouldn't do to sulk simply because things here might be more advanced.

[Not at all... and he already has a mind as to where he might direct his attentions in this new environment.]

I'd be interested in seeing this greenhouse, but I'd like to see these machines you spoke of as well.

I can definitely help you through it. It's a lot to take in but the machines are pretty much all automated so you really only have to learn how to read the results they put out. But also how to use it and maintain them.

[ Which is a lot but also...not really?? ]

Greenhouse first then! I can show you one of the machines in the small lab afterward! There are so many different types of herbs and weird flowers here, it's really amazing. I've been meaning to make a running catalog of the ones I come across with health benefits or properties but it's a bit daunting.

Mm, that does sound an arduous task indeed.

[Baizhu almost hums the words out in thoughtful contemplation. Daunting, yes... but he can definitely see the value in such an undertaking. It's something that he will be going about doing himself given time, though it's likely to be slow going without Gui and Qiqi here to help things along and with no supply chain to speak of.

He lifts a hand and curls his forefinger against his lower lip, lightly tapping it there.]

But they do say that many hands make light work. Between the two of us, and if we can find others who would be interested in such a catalogue, we might cut the time down significantly.

[ Shigeru nods as he leads Baizhu to the backyard of the clinic. It's a spacious lot so there's plenty of room to play with in terms of setting something else up back there if they really had to. But the greenhouse is nestled in the corner of the lot, the walkway leading up to it clear and made of stone as Shigeru types something. ]

There was someone else who was very interested. Apparently finding and cataloguing plants was part of his job back home?? His name is Tighnari! Perhaps asking if he'd like to join in our little endeavor would be good.

Oh, Tighnari. I'm familiar with the name.

[Someone he has wanted to meet, in fact, and hoped that the Traveller might be able to facilitate communication with some time. Aether is a busy person, though, so he hasn't pressed the issue overmuch.

Who knows, maybe he might make the journey to Sumeru himself one day. It's not terribly far.]

Oh you know him?! Is he from the same world as you then?

[ Since there's no way they could've met given that Baizhu just arrived here. ]

I think you two would make a very good team! You both seem to have the same interests and you could really work your magic together, you know?! You should definitely meet up and exchange information. Since it's always nice to meet someone who shares similar interests as you, you know?

Oh, no, we haven't met. We have a mutual friend who happened to mention his name to me at one time and I have an interest in becoming acquainted with him.

[When it comes to having the same interests... he's not really sure that that is necessarily true, but he has found what Aether has told him about Tighnari to be intriguing and he would like to meet the man if he could.]

He comes from a neighbouring country. I don't travel far these days due to my health, so I haven't had the opportunity to visit the Akademiya in Sumeru. [Oh, but he really should, some day...]

I'm sure he would have many insights I would find very useful.
