{ despite the topic of today, ayato does actually keep the camera on. he’s had a few days to process things by now, he’s had time to pull back on whatever mask is needed for this. }

Following today the abandoned mansion near the airship station will be closed off to everyone.

The seasonal power holders have worked together to create a barrier. The reason for this is simple, there is something in there that is unlike anything we’ve seen before. My companion and I entered that building on May 29th with the goal of trying to ensure it could be used as a safe spot. Unfortunately, both of us died in that place.

I’ve attached a document with the knowledge we acquired from fighting it in case it sounds similar to anything you’ve encountered before. I also have a video that can be requested. Olwen has contacted researchers to start analysing what it may be, but any similarities may help.

I will not be answering personal questions on the matter. Please keep this informational.

I'm sure your efforts will be wildly appreciated and useful to others. May those efforts result with things that are helpful to us.

Were there other places that you had intended to investigate as potential safe areas?

My first thought were to try any that would also offer shelter. Especially since the location was 2 days away by airship, cutting down the time and having a place to retreat to seemed like a good idea.

{ but he'll leave that first part as it is. so far some interesting points have come up that are publicly available. some are definitely not as open because he shared the video with that person. }

If we were able to make that a reality, then that would be a huge gain for not just us. The ripple effect of an accomplishment like that would be short of impressive when you think about it.

Have you abandoned the idea based on this experience?

I haven't. I will just need a little time to venture further afield again, specifically to the Autumn segment.

I still think it's an important cause.

I agree, and I would hope that no one would think less of you if you avoided the autumn segment in the future.

Perhaps it would be good to involve more people in the next venture if they may end up being this dangerous.

I won't long term. We don't have enough people willing to venture out for me to not try.

And sadly I doubt having more numbers wise would have helped in this case. It grew more powerful with everything it devoured.

You can count me as one of those people who are willing to make a venture. There's no telling how effective my abilities will be but I'm open to see what I can do.

But I see. Truly the stuff of nightmares.

That's a relief to hear. I hope hearing this didn't put too many people off, but I wanted to make awareness of the dangers.

Indeed. It's possible someone who has light abilities may have fared better, but with it being dark outside when we went there is only so much information I can provide on that front. Hopefully the researchers will be able to find something to help us.

It might put off someone who is a bit more sane in the head or having more self-preservation, but I can't consider myself among those.

I'm sure you will keep us posted about what the researchers end up finding out. However, if you ever think that you are about to adventure into an area were fire might be of great use, feel free to call upon me. I'm quite experienced with fire.

It may sound a little strange to see me be grateful for something like that, but it is rather needed here.

[ ayato doesn't have to mention any of that; it is what it is and sabo wouldn't hold it against him even if he knew. it's best to work with people that you know and all of that. ]

Not at all, but I would even go as far to say that something like this could be beneficial depending on the situation.

While I don't normally condone it, some situations do work best if someone decides against their better judgement and to be more reckless.

In this case, I suppose if we had simply ran, we wouldn't have the information we have now and someone less experienced may have stumbled on it.

The unfortunate side effect of being a pioneer, as it were, but you're absolutely right.

Thanks to you, we were able to gain information that will certainly help those in the future. As well truly understand what await us outside of the areas where it's been advisable to travel.

Most likely there are more of these, yes. It seems Olwen and the other power olders were surprised we found anything like it in the mansion, it wasn't a known species.

Well, isn't that unsettling.

You'd have to wonder if it was something that developed on its own or something that came along with us unintentionally.

[ or something else even less pleasant. ]

That is something we don't have the answer for yet, but I hope we can learn before we need to face it. If it's something that developed on its own or came from the Darkness would make it harder to understand.
