Welcome to a Mini Event which is basically: network server has been damaged, so all network messages have a chance of going to the wrong recipient. It doesn't need to happen, but there's a high chance of misfires happening for the duration of the mini event.

This post can be used for sending out messages that can end up for anyone and everyone completely without meaning to. Feel free to also just send a blank message with your character and receive messages from others! Whatever works best for you and is most fun~!

This event will happen for the whole weekend, starting from now and ending on late Sunday night once they finally manage to fix the mistake.

Remember to put warnings up if you want to post anything NSFW-ish and especially link pictures; however if it evolves into "sexting", remember to move it to another post.

[Nia starts purring, though the mock swordfight doesn't falter in the least.]

Hey, Ruby. Why do you think I'm fighting differently with each sword?

[Ruby ponders a bit before an answer comes to her.]

It’s the fighting styles of your family, isn’t it?

That's right. Mythra might be as calculating as the supercomputer she used to be in battle, but her style's still pretty aggressive. She's all about causing as much damage as possible as fast as possible. Pyra, on the other hand, tends to try to seek out weak points and gaps in her opponent's guard. She'll come at you from the side or from behind, she's surprisingly sneaky like that. Neither of them were great at actual defense, but that was what we had Tora and Mὸrag for. Zeke would help out Rex on the offensive, while I worked my arse off to keep them all alive.

Heheh, they were all bloody losers, but we made it work in the end.

Nah, you’re not losers at all. You were friends. A team. A family. And that’s what matters!

Hey, I never said I was a loser. The rest absolutely were, though. Mὸrag was a close case, but after seeing what happened when she tried to prepare Argentum Monkfish... Don't get me wrong, they were right terrors in battle, but outside it was just too easy to make fun of them. I think that was actually exactly what Shellhead- Zeke, I mean- was going for, so I guess he gets a pass there.

[Ruby laughs at that.]

But, still the compliment stands! They can be both goofballs and family!

[And Ruby’s hand slips lower, to her shoulder and collarbone.]

Yeah, that sounds about right. Rex always did treat Shellhead like his big brother or something, so I guess that would make Pandoria the sister-in-law? Morag and Bridgid were the ones who kept us from getting into too much trouble, and Tora and Poppi were usually the ones who got us into it in the first place.

[More water forged weapons join the first two, now just floating in the air. A comically large broadsword, a pair of twin whips, and a trio of a shield, a pair of gauntlets, and a sword that suspiciously resembles the Aegis swords all clumped together.]

Kinda sounds like my friends, honestly - we’re always trying to get into silly trouble while helping people.

[She takes notice of the new additions.]

Uh-huh. The big sword is Pandoria's, though the hilt can be pulled out and used as a director for her lightning. Only someone as strong as Shellhead could actually swing the whole thing around. The whips belong to Bridgid, the Jewel of the Ardainian Empire. Her and Mὸrag were damn near unstoppable when they got serious. The other three were all paired to Poppi, each of her frames had a different one. The shield for Poppi-ɑ, the gauntlets for Poppi-QT, and the sword for Poppi-QTπ. Don't look at me, Tora came up with the names.

[Ruby’s listening intently to what Nia’s saying, stopping and blinking upon hearing the Poppi frame names.]

Those… those are some names for them.

[She giggled sheepishly, her hand resting near her chest now.]

Mmm, well, the disarmingly cutesy part is a whole Nopon cultural thing. They're generally small, weak, and being compatible with Blades is really rare for them, so they adopted habits and speech patterns that would endear them to the bigger and stronger humans. Discovered that in the records of an old Nopon pirate captain.

Aww, that’s so cute! I hope I can meet one one day!

[Her fingers gracefully brush against her.]

[Nia suddenly sits up to look Ruby directly in the eyes.]

Don't let them fool you. Most Nopon are money-grubbing cutthroats who will use their cute looks to empty your purse faster than you can blink. Rephrasing what I said earlier, manipulating humans for personal gain is a cornerstone of their culture. Even the nicer ones won't think twice about using you to solve their problems for them.

[Ruby jumps in surprise at Nia’s actions. If she’s acting like that, then it must be serious!]

R-right, changing those plans now! S-sorry!

[Nia relaxes again, head back in Ruby's lap.]

Nopon pretty much controlled the whole economy in Alrest. Every trade guild was run by them, and the competition was harsh. There's not even really any malice in there, it's just how their culture ended up.

Oh, I see. Wow, I had no idea there could be such things. Especially in the markets…

[Her hands return to where they were before, gently touching Nia.]

Yep, appearances can be deceiving. I know that better than most, after all. And the more clever Nopon know it better than anyone.

Just... don't be too on guard. I learned that's a bad idea the hard way. It's why I like you and Rex so much. You're both simple, honest souls. You say what you mean, and mean what you say. Exactly the kind of person I could trust enough to stop lying myself.

I won’t. I can tell you can trust me with certain things, even if I don’t trust myself. And I’m so glad you do trust me at all.
