I work for our government now, you see. I want everyone to be heard, though, of course, we must all make sacrifices - some of us more than others. Such is the nature of living on a new planet.

(Simply put? The Dark Side has made her hyper vigilant about protecting her fellows. She now knows the Sith were - or, rather, a Sith was - causing the chaos and confusion that left the democracy she had fought to keep in tatters. Padmé takes nothing for granted and while things might be good now, if no one keeps watch, they may not stay that way.)

Anyone could arrive at any moment. There are some from my galaxy that could - and would - use the peace of this place to take advantage, to gain power for themselves.

I understand. It's a big advantage, then, that you arrived first and will be able to identify those bad actors if they arrive too.

[Whether by covertly warning the local authorities or, if the suspect person does make the moves she fear they will, making the general public aware, Padmé will be able to act with both hindsight and foresight - and, ideally, a proven track record for being an upstanding politician, which is exactly what she appears to be working on.]

I truly hope so. I won't be silent if I see them; there is at least one man who doesn't deserve my or anyone else's sympathy.
