How'd you turn back to normal?

It was an ability.
I used to be able to temporarily turn myself into any kind of mundane animal from my home planet. Even extinct ones!

I could transform others, too. Super useful in a pinch.

Can't say I know a situation where turning into a worm would be useful

I got kidnapped here from another world, went back there, went home, then got kidnapped here again.

more than that, it's terrifying
it can make you feel so helpless
these places can, and have, dragged in gods. people and beings with all sorts of incredible, world-breaking powers. people you'd think would be immune.
i'm not sure what your homeworld is like, but mine is non-magical. i wasn't even a combatant when this started happening.

all anyone can do is the best they can with what they have
so far, for me, that's meant pitching in to help resolve whatever issue or nonsense i got dragged in for in the first place. once that problem's solved, my world's safe.
from THAT problem. from THAT place.

it's like firefighting
nobody can be everywhere at once, fighting every fire or stopping it before it starts.
you just
deal with what you can
do your best
reach out to others. try to help. accept help from others. learn along the way.
