How much meaning do you place on your date of birth?

Today is my birthday, but it is not the day of my birth. I have no recollection of that precise date, but this day is the day that the people of Fontaine decided my birthday would be celebrated on.

[A pause.]

It seemed important to them that they have a date upon which to mark it. I found no need to object, though I never fully understood the insistence.

Does anyone have advice for if your Pokemon hates everyone that isn't you or your other Pokemon and is way overly protective of you? I've tried talking to Frills about it, but he's stubborn. He bit Porty. He was mean to Mecchan.

Just so everyone got an idea of what to bring... it’s gonna be a veggie broth with a kick.

As it turned out, the frozen heart symptoms had spread to Mary's canvas- or perhaps, more likely, from the canvas to her. The oil paint slowly cracked and buckled, leading to little bits of herself starting to flake away in turn. She needed to fix this, before it got any worse.]

Hello there, everyone! My name is Lan Sizhui and I just arrived here not too long ago.

[he raises both hands and waves them in greeting, still hoping everyone can see alright, even though the screen is slightly off-kilter.] I find myself with not much to do right now, so I come with a question and a suggestion!

First off: what sorts of jobs are there around here? I know they surely won't pay for everything the whole time, so I'd like to get started on something as soon as possible.

Second of all: I have learned that there isn't a community garden to tend to. Having these new powers, I feel like it will be a little easier to take care of things, so I'd like to find some land and start a little garden for everyone to enjoy. [he grins outright, clasping both hands together now and holding them close to the left side of his face, clearly excited with the new idea.] It would be open to any and everyone and people could come and take as they please, I think.

Any thoughts on this? I will happily accept any other suggestions, too. [sizhui picks up the smartphone, holding it a little closer.] Thank you all for your help, I truly appreciate it!

Everyone gets a small set and the audience all use those light-up bracelets to cheer on who they like! Then at the end, the audience votes for who they liked the best! We did these all the time at home, it'll be fun.

I hope you guys all come and see! And if you're a DJ too and I haven't talked to you yet, let me know and you can join too!

[Evangeline seems more anxious than she normally does, but she's smiling, at least.]

Apparently, when you start dating someone, you're supposed to make some sort of announcement on the internet so all your friends know? At least that's what I hear. And I, definitely didn't do that! Three times over! So, um, oops?

I'm dating three people now! Fajra, Barghest, and Chipp. Um, things are going... well? They're going well.

[Honestly still not sure what she's doing but she's trying her best!!]

So, uh, yeah, that's it. ...Do you, like, open the floor to questions here or what...?

[ Jayce turns on the camera and shifts it to a couple different angles to try and find the right one. While it comes into focus, some voices can be heard in the background and there's occasional peeks at the lab space that that they're standing in. When it finally fully focuses, Jayce is pretty close to the camera; however, there's a clear bit of pink and purple behind him and when he shifts the camera - Rio comes into view. Near her is a man with a can, who isn't wholly shown on camera, at least not yet. He leans into the camera and whispers, as if the man behind him won't be able hear when he speaks - though he most certainly can. ]

I thought about coming on and saying something important about our work. But... [ He hums, a little amused. ] A cutie from home has just recently arrived here. This lovely big girl is Rio. Isn't she adorable? She's someone very important and special and deserves a very warm welcome.

[ He nods in her direction, then he shifts, moving the camera away from him so there's a broader scope of the space behind him. From here, the lab is far more clear - tables with pieces of metal put together and what appears to be metal-shaped arms and legs when the camera lingers for a couple of moments as he tries to get a good se of focus. But, with a quick nudge to the camera it's easy to see Viktor giving Rio lots of gentle pets, love, and attention. She seems to be relishing the attention from her favorite person, too. Jayce glances back at them a moment, trying not to get caught in the process, though it's definitely not a secret he's watching. He then leans in to whisper again: ]

And this cutie with Rio is my partner, Viktor. He is Rio's absolutely favorite person. And I think she might be his favorite, too.

[ That earns Jayce a glance in his direction. ]

I just wanted to introduce everyone to them [ Wait. ] — her!

[Sounding a little flustered, Baizhu quickly pans the camera around to one of the apothecary cabinets in his pharmacy, which appears to be sprouting a disproportionately large number of mushrooms. The usually calm and collected doctor looks a bit frazzled as he speaks up.]

I would appreciate some extra pairs of hands with this... predicament that I have found myself in. [Really, he should have known better, but who could have guessed that the mushrooms would be so prolific even when properly stored?]

Preferably before these things ruin my entire stock.

Hello, everyone!

[Ren is dressed in rather casual clothes today.]

As some of you who have been here for a long time remember, April is traditionally a time for the Arts Festival. However, this year we don't have the ones who were usually in charge of it.

[Which is sad, and his smile reflects that for a while, but such is the way of these worlds.]

I want to continue the tradition, but I can't do it on my own. So this is a call for help. Anyone interested in organizing this with me?

Of course, any interest in participating would be nice to hear as well.

[Here is a video of a white wolf. Those who actually believe in gods will see red markings over her body and a reflector on her back. Otherwise she looks like a regular, white wolf.

She doesn't say anything, mostly just stares at the screen, trying to figure out what it actually does. By the surroundings, it seems she's at the Blossomcrown Park.

What she does do is suddenly make a circle around a flowerless plant with her tail and a flower appears on, as good as new. She's trying to tell that she's one of the otherworlders and not a lost puppy like many have asked her.

Of course if one doesn't belive, the flower just appeared on its own.]

[ooc: Amaterasu doesn't talk, but she does try to communicate in her own way. This post can also be used as a log for meetings in the park.

Though those who understand animals/wolf may persuade her to talk. A little.]

I have a question. Is living in the starter apartments usually this crazy? Just in a month we've had a fire alarm and then some incident with a giant hand appearing from the side of the building. I think someone was dangling from the hand, too, before dropping down with it...

What's next? A meteor falls down? The apartment building gets moved in the middle of the winter segment? Is anywhere safe to live? I just want a quiet place to tinker with mechanics...

Hey, everyone. Uh, so...

[Have a bunny, Ellipsa. She's dressed in what appears to be an officer's uniform, but clearly for Nightwake City and not Zootopia. She's actually off-duty, so don't worry about her doing this on taxpayer hours.]

This is a really awkward question and I sincerely hope I don't offend, but it's honestly been on my mind since I got here.

Is there a reason why the majority of people who arrive are uh... the same or similar species? Human, I think was the name? I don't see very many, uh, creatures... animals(?) here. Like myself.

[Was creature the right word?]

And not just myself as in bunny, I mean myself like, well, not human, I guess? Or human-like, I think? [She lets out an awkward laugh.] I seriously hope I didn't just put my foot in it and if I've offended, please say so! I'm really asking all this out of genuine curiosity.

[Not to mention some of these humans had animal-like features? Cat-like humans, bunny-like humans... that was just confusing things even further.]

We're a week into the new year already, and I'm sure many of us have made resolutions. One of mine is that I want to try and become stronger.

I bought a Potion of New Powers, but realised that I don't really have a good understanding of what powers are out there in the worlds represented by us. Others among us may be struggling with the same thing, so I want to invite those whose worlds feature powers that would help us and Ellipsa to share information about them - if you'd be willing to give your blessing for others to attain them, that is.

Mecchan wants his own birthday. I know when Hina-chan's is because she hatched here in Ellipsa, but I don't know when Mecchan was born, and since Mary-chan just had a birthday a couple weeks ago, I think he wants his own.

Hello everybody. Hijikata here. No worries, I've got no bad news about portals to hell this time. Rather than that, a while ago, Rinku-chan and I talked about some information that was found in the magical library...

[He reads out:]

"There exists a world above the clouds that's full of different races who talk our language. They're animal tribes, who act like humans but look like animals. The Winged Mounts come from said place, but only those who receive a blessing from an ancient tree (currently lost to Darkness) can reach the clouds."

With a lot of land now uncovered, we want to go looking for that tree. There's a lot of potential ground to cover, and there's no telling if the tree isn't still lost in the Darkness, but we want to try! We'll start with the big tree that has a house in it in the Summer Segment since that's the most prominent one we know of that emerged after the flight of the dragons.

Why am I telling you all this? Well, we're looking for people to go with us. If the tree with the house is the one, we'll have it easy - but if it isn't, we'll systematically explore all the newly accessible forests. You heard that right! Progress will have to be incremental since we've all got other things to do... but yeah, we're assembling a team! We're looking for a handful of people.

[UPDATE: The expedition thread is now live here, and sign-ups are closed! I (Hijikata-mun) will facilitate it but reach out to all participants for feedback on their character's actions at each turn.]
