[There was an off Pokémon blinking into the camera before it was helpfully pulled back up— and the Applin itself scooped up but a larger/taller Pokémon with that sly playful smile in a playful way.]
Hello everyone! Once again, for those who do and don't know me, I am Clavell. I hope you all are having a pleasant day, even with these surprises I assume many have been gifted.
I do, of course, mean those eggs left in a basket and hatching! As most know, I am from a world where these wonderful creatures known as Pokémon exist, and am very happy to help those with questions about their new friends.
[Up popped his Rotomphone with a wide smile before flipping around, displaying the Pokédex app for all to see--]
A friend and I created a phone app some several months ago that you all may freely download that is filled with information about all sort of Pokémon from various regions; which you can download here- [There would be an attached download file for those who wished to download said Pokédex phone app.
And that was a warm smile from the older man--]
So once again, if you have any questions or need some sort of help? Please do not hesitate to contact me, or anyone else you may know to have helpful knowledge of Pokémon. I shall be at the park in Blossomcrown should some be near as well.
Good day.

Ah, that sounds as if you've hatched yourself a Magikarp- does it happen to look anything like this?
[That white cased Rotophone propped into frame and twirled around until it brought up the image of a Paldean pokédex card for said Pokémon within clear view.]
As for your question, the app for these phones here are a little more difficult to get a pokéball scan working without tweaking the phone itself, I'm afraid.
no subject
Yes! That's exactly it!
[His verdict regarding the mysterious ball's interior is a bit of a bummer, but she's not about to mope - she has follow-up questions!]
Could we perhaps scan it with your own phone, assuming it has the capability?
[It looks kind of... alive!]
In the meantime, I'd like to confirm if my fish - Magikarp - needs fresh- or salt water. Going by the name, I assume freshwater will be best for it, right?

[He remembered training one, that was for certain. Well worth all of the time and effort given how loyal and strong Gyarados had grown to be even after evolving.]
We could, yes. This is my Rotomphone from home, and due to it's nature and level of technology put into it they are capable with the other functions it is able to perform pertaining to pokémon and pokéballs alike.
[That bobbing sort of nod from the rotomphone, that smile growing wider as eyes glowed.]
Either work, given they are found in both fresh and salt water. Not a very strong swimmer, but they do their best.

At Rotomphone's widening smile, she returns a slightly disbelieving look... really, is it alive, or is it a machine? With how advanced technology is around here, she truly can't tell. In any case, the confirmation that Magikarp can live in any kind of water is already a big relief!]
That's wonderful news! I like to swim, so I'm glad I can take it with me anywhere.
[After all, the artificial sea in Solarpeak in particular is her near-daily haunt!]
I'll come to meet you in the park so we can take a look at its ball together. Thank you very much for your time already!

Mister Clavell, right? You're hard to miss with all your friends!
[So many pokémon surround the man! She hardly knows which one to admire first as she hands the Dive Ball over for inspection. Her Magikarp is currenly inside it, which she advises Clavell of.]

[Would get stronger, of course, if evolution was chosen down the road but- A warm smile.]
I shall be here, and you are so very welcome.
~Action~
[A lot of pokémon, and at least a couple of them very big- even with Abomasnow sitting under a nearby tree in the shade and napping; created a cooler breeze with it's presence.]
Correct! A pleasure to meet you- and at the very least they do make it easy for those looking to find me.
[Houndoom was sitting near the bench, tail wagging slowly as it watched her. The dive ball was taken carefully, the Rotomphone popping back up and-]
I can tell you that they are healthy, at the very least. If you wanted, there is a pond just over there you can release them into without much worry- still may flop about, but that is simply in a Magikarp's nature.

[She hardly wants to pull her eyes away from all those magnificent creatures, but she did come here to get her Magikarp checked out! She walks over to the water with Clavell, crouches down and releases the fish pokémon. It splashes into the pond and swims a few rounds before jumping a couple of times.]
I'm glad that the jumping is normal! At first, I thought it was in distress. Will it find its own food when I let it swim in natural bodies of water, or should I buy more of this for it?
[She takes out the pokémon food that came with the egg basket.]
Sorry for being slower on the reply- RL hit hard
Houndoom rose with him, of course, and he was simply retrieving his bag.]
Very normal, distress is something Magikarp almost always looks to be in. It will, yes, but having the pokémon food will help keep it on a healthy diet that can't always be found. There are also certain dishes you can share together- where I'm from it would be certain sandwiches, or in Galar curry has become quite popular. Alola have malasada, which is a fried dough with some sort of sugar coating on the outside and filling on the inside- which of course depends on the type.
[Speaking of? There were several collapsible bowls being taken out of that bag. Clavell making up a few packed away meals into dishes that Houndoom was helping give out to his team.]
I mention that simply because picnicking is rather popular in Paldea, where I am from. Trainer and team often eat together when traveling, and in the comfort of their homes at times. Just another way to bond with your new friend.
Take it easy! ♡
I can really eat the same food as a Magikarp - or the other way around, rather? Could you give me that sandwich recipe by any chance?
[She takes pencil and notebook out to write it down - but then, she pauses.]
On second thought, for a Magikarp, a sandwich probably wouldn't be a good choice, nor the other dishes you mentioned... might there be something we could eat underwater? I have a mermaid necklace, so I can spend time with it there.
[While conversing, she observes the continued meal set-up for the pokémon with interest, curious what the different creatures will eat. Getting to witness this up close is exciting! She'd offer to help, but with her lack of experience in caring for pokémon, she'll rather leave it to the expert at this point.]
