How's it going, friendos?

If anyone's feeling bored, STRONG rec: Get on the streaming app and check out a show called "The Chain". I've been trying to find a series to fixate on while I'm here, and this seems like a strong pick.

It's sort of a family drama / mystery thriller, but the acting and plot twists are both so over the top that it dips into surreal comedy by accident. The whole shape of the story changes completely like every other episode. It's kind of trash, but it's REALLY good trash, if you know what I mean?

Basic premise:
- It's about The Family, which is never named for some reason, maybe they don't have surnames where the show was made? Or maybe it's a weird artistic decision
- Main character Rain is the oldest daughter, first in line to inherit the family fortune
- It turns out she has a twin sister who was separated from the family at birth named Pearl
- Pearl comes back out of nowhere and decides to become part of the family again
- Rain finds evidence that Pearl is an impostor but everyone else in the family accepts her as the True Heir(TM) on basically zero evidence
- A guy with no face tries to assassinate Rain but when someone shows up to help it's suddenly like he was never there
- Rain's dad implies that Rain isn't actually his daughter and Pearl is the actual heir
- Pearl is revealed to have psychic powers that she's using to gaslight Rain
- Rain goes through Pearl's stuff and finds an old key that matches a locked door in the basement
- Rain doesn't remember why or when but she remembers seeing that key before and also remembers being locked behind the basement door before
- Rain's mom is seen giving new orders to the man with no face

Like, it sounds like I just summarized a whole season, right? Wrong. That's all in episode 1. It moves so fast and the plot is so weird that there's basically no twist I wouldn't put past it. Maybe Pearl is an alien, I'd buy it.

Anyway shows like this are more fun with an actual community. Someone join me in this insanity. It's streaming free, there's about a season and a half up right now.

Champions of foreign lands and worlds of names I have yet to know–hearken unto me!

[This video starts off with a bang! No, literally. There’s a loud explosion in the background as towering flames suddenly jut out from all corners of the arena forming an orange-red haze around the entire colosseum. For any unfortunate souls here, it’s going to feel hotter than hell but for others just watching from afar; you’re relatively safe for now. Those wild orange flames won’t scorch anyone as long as Rosen has control of them.

Oh, for those of you wondering who’s talking right now–that would be the dapper old bastard with the long flowing hair dressed in bright red and blue tunic standing at the center of the colosseum. Don’t ask how he’s managing to film the entire stunt. He’s just doing what he does best, causing a disturbance. It’s been a little too peaceful here and he’s bloody determined to change all that. If there’s one thing Rosen hates more is peace and quiet.]

Many of you proclaim to be warriors of realms I have yet to explore. Some of you even pretend to be likened to gods all for the sake of vanity and nothing else!

[It’s amazing how this crazed fellow can project his voice. He’s not talking into a microphone or anything. No, he’s literally projecting his voice throughout the entire colosseum over the roar of the fire. That actually takes talent and a lack of shame for being that damn LOUD! Then again, the colosseum has great acoustics.]

Therefore, I challenge you!

[In a flash of brilliant white light, a magical fiery red spear suddenly appears within his right hand. He dramatically points it towards the direction of the camera, making sure that this prized relic is on display for all to see. While it might come into question as of how he’s recording all this, Rosen at least knows how to put on a good show.]

I am called Rosenkrantz, and I formally challenge every capable warrior and legend here to face in armed combat! Only the strong need to apply for those without strength will be turned at the gate!

[He’s not kidding either. If he finds any of you fools lacking, he’ll toss you out of the colosseum on your ass. That is an unspoken rule here.]

Hello everyone!

Let me ask you a question so I can get to know you all. Just out of curiosity, which do you prefer? Cats, dogs? Birds? Or even a hillicurl?

[ When the feed opens, note that there are an array of mushrooms spread out upon a table. There is a complete intact version right next to one that has been completely dissected. Tighnari is also visible behind them, ears moving this way and that. ]

I apologize for interrupting your perusal of endless questions and general socializing [ He's not right now because science ] but it would be irresponsible not to share what I've been working on since arriving here.

My field of study is botany so I took it upon myself to start gathering samples from the flora out in the Sections. I picked these from the Mushroom Sanctuary. Some are harmless enough, but others are not. Hopefully this will reduce the amount of "I ate one now what" scenarios from occurring.

Over here, we have a glowing variety that are relatively fine. Eating any of the glowing varieties will result in a glowing effect your yourself. The effects won't last too long, thankfully.

This batch seem to have restortative properties. However, I am still working out what each one does. I will continue studying these.

Next, take care when consuming these varieties. They have a hallugenetic effect. Please do not be irresponsible with this information. Note that I didn't state what sort of hallucinations one will experience and for good reason. There are a few others.

This one caused me to float while it's it's friend made me entirely unable to pick my body up off of the floor.

I say this, but there are plenty of species that I've found are edible and others that were poisonous. If at any point you are unsure, I would be happy to relay that information.

I have more than need to be documented and ideas for potions and salves aside, but this should be sufficient for the time being. Again, I stress caution and care when dealing with unknown flora and fauna.

Sooo, uh. I noticed there are a lot of people looking to fight lately. [A lot? Two? Who knows. It's a lot!!!]

What else have people been doing since they got here? You know, other than fighting each other. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to make suggestions.

[he says this with a bit of a laugh, hopeful.Vash inhales a breath like he's about to say something else but there's a hitch in his breath as he does so and instead of continuing with his thought he just... lets out a horrible sneeze that might seem more at home on some old grandpa than the 20 something looking guy it just came out of.

...And somehow, there's just a little hint of a rumble. Maybe something in the background sways a little, but Vash immediately winces, eyes wide as he stands like a deer that just had a spotlight put on it. ...He's really gotta get a handle on this magic shit.

From offscreen, there is a yelp, a clatter that sounds like a pot hitting the floor, then an explosive curse. A moment later, the door to Vash's room bursts open — likely from a strong kick — and there is a sharp,]

Hey, dumbass—

[The yelp that the door slamming open elicits out of Vash is nigh comical, almost as comical as his full body scramble (not unlike some kind of prey animal or lizard rushing along) to the phone to cut the video out with a distressed little wave.]
